Fujisan or Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan, it's height is of 3,776.24 m, and it's located in the Honshu island. It's actually a volcano, which erupted for the last time in 1707 and if the day is clear enough it can be seen from Tokyo, which is 100 km far away. Mount Fuji along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku are known as the ''Three Holy Mountains'' of the country.
UNESCO added Fujisan into the World Heritage List on the 22nd of June of 2013, and the area which is protected by the UNESCO includes, apart from the Mount Fuji, several shrines, two lakes, the Shiraito Falls, and natural volcanic features, like lava tree moulds.
Although the most of this area is natural, UNESCO tagged Fujisan as cultural heritage site, because this area is considered a sacred place for the japanese culture and such an inspiration for many artists.
I have chosen this place because I have always liked Mount Fuji. It is one of the most famous symbols of Japan, and as Japan is a place that I would love to visit, I think it would be amazing to be able to visit this place and, not only see the mount, also visit the surroundings and the shrines, to learn more about the japanese culture.
